What is PGT?

• Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is a technique used to screen embryos for genetic abnormalities before transferring them to the uterus during an In Vitro
  Fertilization (IVF) cycle. This testing helps ensure that only healthy embryos with the
  correct number of chromosomes or without specific genetic mutations are
  implanted.

• Procedure:
  On day 5 or 6 of embryo development (blastocyst stage), a few cells are carefully
  biopsied from each embryo. The biopsied cells are sent to a genetic laboratory for
  analysis. The remaining embryo is cryopreserved (frozen) while awaiting test results.
